Custom Jewelry Design Process Below are the steps we go through with a customer when creating their custom jewelry piece. This is a highly interactive and collaborative process. For illustration, we will use a custom diamond engagement ring. This same process applies to any custom jewelry piece. First, we will discuss the ring's center stone diamond, with primary interest on the diamond's size, shape, color, cut and clarity. Next we will discuss the setting design. The customer often brings in pictures of other ring style they like, chooses from dozens of style we have on hand or works with our jeweler to create a truly unique design. Following the first two steps, our jewelry expert will produce a full color, 3D computer generated design rendering of your ring. The customer then reviews this and makes any desired changes or additions. After the customer approves the 3D design, we then produce a wax model of the customer's custom ring for review. This model is to scale and to color. Once we have received your approval, we handcraft the piece to your specifications.
