Many bodybuilders are wont to hold their breath during the worst phase of each rep thrust or lift. This may cause a short-term “blackout” of the brain, which is very dangerous to handle more weight. In addition, holding the breath can cause increased blood pressure to dangerous levels. This increases the risk of stroke, especially for those fans who are over 35-40 years.
